Hi, I'm Jonatan, co-founder of PlaylistsForYou.
Music has always been the starting point for me. I began making hip-hop when I was young, and somewhere along the way that slowly evolved into creating indie rock, folk and many other genres. Always chasing moods, stories, and the feeling a song leaves behind.
That curiosity pulled me into playlists, promotion, and figuring out how music actually finds its audience. At PlaylistsForYou, I focus on the creative side: concepts, curation, and marketing - making sure artists land in playlists that truly fit with them. Together with Jonathan's analytical and business-minded approach, we bring creativity and structure together to build something that helps artists grow in a real, honest way.
Hi, I'm Jonathan, co-founder of PlaylistsForYou.
Before I start: "Yes", we have almost the same name, and this is how we started our friendship around 14 years ago in Secondary school. After my Master's degree in Economics I travelled around Asia, and when I came back to Europe I talked about wanting to help out with growing Playlistforyou. I saw the strength in the small business he already had built out. We learned that our combined expertise & knowledge is much stronger.
We managed to find a lot of synergies in our combined approach. I'm good at working with a strategic vision and where to go, and Jonatan is very good at coming up with concepts and creating new ideas.
Hi, I'm James, the developer behind PlaylistsForYou.
I started out in behavioural science research - running experiments, digging into data, trying to figure out what makes people tick. At some point I realised the tools I was using could do a lot more, so I taught myself to build them from scratch. That pulled me into software full-time, and I've been at it for over a decade now.
Over the years I've built data pipelines, machine learning systems, and full web applications across healthcare, energy, events, and analytics. My behavioural science background still shapes how I think though - I care less about how something works under the hood and more about what it actually does for people. At PlaylistsForYou that means building the platform, automating the boring stuff, and making sure the tech side just works so the team can focus on music and growth.
